Green Goddess Smoothie
I had my first classic green goddess juice at the Body Holiday in St.Lucia and have been hooked ever since. You won't find much more refreshing.
I've started training for the Berlin Marathon in September and was looking for a recipe that I could keep a stash of in the fridge, easily grab on my way out in the morning, and that would keep me going until lunchtime, and this is it. The addition of avocado and banana not only make it incredibly smooth and creamy, they also gives you plenty of energy to keep you going until lunchtime.
RECIPE: Makes 1 litre approx
INGREDIENTS
5cm knob of ginger
4 green apples
½ cucumber
1 stick of celery
50g spinach
20g kale (large handful)
½ Avocado, destoned & peeled
½ lime, juiced
5g fresh mint leaves (small handful)
1 banana
METHOD
Juice the ginger, apples, cucumber and celery
Place in a high speed blender along with all the other ingredients and blend until really smooth
Sprinkle with a few chia seeds
